Tim Genders

Tim Genders is the Head of Commercial at Project Isizwe and passionate about bringing the next billion online in Africa. He has been with Isizwe for the last 7 years taking responsibility for the sustainable development of WiFi connectivity. 

Tim graduated from Oxford University (St Peter’s College) in 1989 with a 1st class honours degree in Engineering Science. Tim came to South Africa in 1994 and developed a career in IT. He was one of the founders of BCX in 2000. In 2006 Tim set up a Airband, wireless ISP business in Durban and sold to HeroTel in 2015. 

Tim is the chair of WAPA (Wireless Access Providers Association) South Africa between 2016 and 2021 and 2023 to date.
