ZAIGF Stakeholder Engagement

Internet governance refers to the rules, policies, standards and practices that coordinate and shape global cyberspace. The South African Internet Governance Forum (ZAIGF) is responsible for facilitating multi-stakeholder dialogue on these issues in South Africa.

This panel will tackle the future of South African Internet Governance, examine ways to ensure that ISPs and internet companies participate in the national dialogue, and focus on an approach that moves from mere dialogue to actionable outcomes, ensuring South Africa’s national interest is advanced in the global digital economy.

• Mr. William Stucke: Strategies for the reintegration of the technical and business communities into the ZAIGF process.
• Ms. Latty Tlhaka: Driving transformation, human capacity development, and access for previously disadvantaged communities.
• Ms. Doreen Mokoena: Aligning the ZAIGF with the Global Digital Compact (GDC) and the permanent status of the global IGF.
