Edward Lawrence is the Chief Executive Officer of Yafibr and a leading entrepreneur in Africa’s internet infrastructure sector. With over two decades of experience, he has played a central role in building the digital backbone of the continent.
He co-founded Workonline Communications in 2006 and helped scale it into a leading provider of wholesale IP transit and connectivity services across sub-Saharan Africa. At Yafibr, Edward is focused on designing, deploying, and operating high-quality long-haul dark fibre infrastructure across Africa and Europe.
In parallel, he founded Unicorn Factory Advisory Services, an investment and advisory platform focused on technology-driven ventures, and has launched multiple businesses spanning connectivity, digital services, and technology innovation. Edward serves on several pan-African technology boards and is a member of the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa (IoDSA).
